Consumer Assistance Program (CAP)
Get Financial Assistance for Emissions-Related Vehicle Repairs
The Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) offers income-qualified Californians financial assistance to repair vehicles that have failed a biennial Smog Check. By helping cover emissions-related repairs, CAP aims to reduce vehicle pollution and support cleaner air across the state.
CAP may cover up to $1,200 in repairs for vehicles from model year 1996 or newer, and up to $900 for vehicles from model years 1976-1995.
